Our User Group guys along with the MVPs did a splendid job, running the .NET Forum / MVP stall at the eCarnival Exhibition held from 2nd ~ 4th December 2005. It was a pretty exciting exhibition, though a majority of the stalls were related to computer hardware/peripheral sales. Our stall anyway was pretty cool. Always occupied with a few people who walked in to checkout the Office 12 Beta that was on display, along with build 5112 of Vista and the Express Editions of Visual Studio. The MVPs: Wela, Ruwan, Jinath, Buddhike & myself, were assisted by the enthusiastic members of the User Group & Forum. Razor, Shafraz, Dinesh, Ludmal, Chandana, Charith & Fiqri along with some of the MSFT Student Champs.
A prize giving session was held at the show, and Microsoft gave away the "Get Ready for Lanuch" pack which contained a full version of the Visual Studio 2005 Professional and SQL Server 2005. I wonder if those who won, would put them into real use. Thats almost US$ 700.. mind you!
This same pack could be won by one lucky person who will attend today's (7th December 2005) User Group Meeting at Gateway at 6.00 pm.
At the meantime, I happened to quickly rip off some videos taken off Wela's handy cam, to produce a short (2:48 min) video clip (on Microsoft Move Maker 2.1), which is available through Wela's blog or My Blog.
